A timeless expression of graphic design
I love classic expressions of design and there is no higher watermark than the International Paper Size Standard. The international paper size standard, ISO 216, is based on the German DIN 476 standard for paper sizes. ISO paper sizes are all based on a single aspect ratio of square root of 2, or approximately 1:1.4142. Although many conventions have existed for paper sizes, the ISO standard is now internationally accepted with the exception of a local standard in North America. Wanting to commemorate this monument of international design, I developed this series of posters that individually outline each size’s historical significance.
